I just realized that, upon
being asked, I’m not sure what I’m fanatical about. Everyone should be fanatical about something, otherwise we move along
in our life letting others making our decisions and setting our path. Don’t get me wrong, I’m POSITIVE I’m fanatical
about something–I just couldn’t come up with what the something is on the spot. I suppose balance? That’s not
really a fanatical idea–I don’t actively debate or preach about the balance, it’s more of a belief system.
What
are the qualities of a fanatic?
fa·nat·ic
(f-ntk)
n.
A person marked or motivated by an extreme, unreasoning enthusiasm, as for a cause.
They are
certainly motivated for something. Fanatics do not budge, and typically they have no need as their fanatical idea is so
vague that everyone can have their own take on the topic. They actively convert, either on the stage or behind the scenes,
others to their conception of the idea.
With that, I’d say I’m fanatical about a variety of things. Work, for
instance. Not the mundane 8-5 daily routine that we all become entrenched within, but work that you enjoy. Gardening,
computer repair, programming, writing, homemaking. I am fanatical that everyone should be performing some type of work in
their life, and hopefully making a profit at doing so! He who does what he enjoys the most does it best.
I’m also
fanatical about computers as a savior and destructor. Without a doubt, we need computers. The technological advances in
medicine, travel, communication–all astounding and worthwhile. Without computers, such advances would be, at worst,
non-existent along with their benefits. However, we have become far too dependent on computer systems (personified by the
layers on layers of backups many corporations employ). The tragedy of losing their precious information is unbearable. For
my own account, I say a couple layers of backup, then kiss the system goodbye. Back to paper mills and pencil
lead.
I’d say I’m also an organizational fanatic. Everything has a place, so put it there. Out of chaos comes
order when organization is found. The thought of losing my keys or cell phone or some vital small slip of paper is too
much. With everything in an organized fashion, with a repetitive schedule, with careful consideration to priority, such
losses become nil.
So…what are you fanatical about? If the answer is nothing, think for a moment on the
implications. Get fanatical.

I’ve been overly
preoccupied with PMNC this week, causing me to forsake some of the finer luxuries including my newly created blog.
However, it’s definitely worth it. Aside from the cash on the side attitude the project brings and the sectional addition
to my resume, the site is really shaping up. And since no one is going to toot my own horn for me, I must say it’s quite
impressive. Definitely

of the backend coding simply rocks. Though the deadline is a bit tough, I think the accomplishment (a bit ahead of it’s
time, though coming) is an impressive feat by all standards.
I’ll need to make it up the wife though. Being as I’m
a full time Neoteric employee during the day, my nights are reserved for PMNC work with little deviation. It’s comforting
to know she understands and supports the project (given an eye on the spending money it brings in for the both us and on
Christmas around the corner), but she needs attention and appreciation and acknowledgement. The 3 a’s of keeping [most]
women happy & loving.
Tomorrow night we’re double dating with a coworker of her’s (codename Barbie). I’m looking
forward to some non-PMNC action for a change, and with haunted houses on the agenda, a fine evening it will be.
In
Neoteric-land, the *explitive* has really hit the fan. It seems as if this blog of late is a documentary of the unrest and
frustrated environment surrounding the company. The road ahead fills me with such pity and brings a sense of waste and
apathy over my duties. What a prosperous enterprise laid at our fingertips…however I fear that it’s lifespan is drawing
close to an end. I’m sure it was a great life, though I’ve only been privileged to experience a fraction, but I had hoped
for longer associations.
Go out tonight and see

I’ve embarked on a quest
to find other bloggers (preferably newer blogs similar to my own condition), and immediately I could see there would have to
be a level of filtering. Within 30 seconds, I found pornography blogs, advertisement blogs, and basic nonsensical
blogs…ya know, freedom of speech and all that good stuff. On the sunny side, I also found decent blogs worth reading–and
commenting. A lot of great design and keen insight into the greater world around me. Now all I have to do is figure out
how to stay current without my easily-diverged mind running off in another direction.
On the darker side, my attempt
to attract attention with recent job applications is starting to induce feedback: rejection. I’ll just keep in mind that
you have to sift through a lot of mud to find the gold…

Testing my own
plugin.
It’s official: I
alt="heart" /> wordpress. The plugin is a success–ya! I also like firefox, google, cnn, but not msn!
Basic
features:
- Robust key catch (can enter website/Website/etc)
- Value replacement
(Rating [*-> ], Website
becomes hyperlink, Daily Tasks becomes unordered list [replacing ‘-’ with ‘<li>’]
- Easy to add
new catches
- Uses the_meta function allowing use of custom-stylesheet, but only prints out what it
expects (i.e., doesn’t print out all items in the meta)
I’ll add it to the wp-plugin database, but
you can download it here. Enjoy!
- Website Description: Cool site
all about dageys!
